The qualifying process is complete for races to fill three Hampton City Council seats in the November election.

Henry Byrd and Ann Tarpley are seeking re-election, while the other incumbent, Elton Brown, chose not to run. Six other people will also be on the ballot, with the top three vote-getters winning the at-large races. Two of the challengers, Mary Ann Mitchum and Marty Meeks, have previously served on the council. The other challengers are Sherry Ann Chaney, Adrian Stroud, Monica Davis and Dexter Cladd.

The three-week early voting period begins Oct. 14 in McDonough, and early voting will also be possible in Hampton the week before election day.
