A Buckhead retirement home’s restaurant failed its health inspection on Dec. 29, the first time in three years its grade fell below an A.
Piedmont at Buckhead received a rating of 57/U on its most recent inspection. It didn’t meet handwashing standards and failed to follow “proper eating, tasting, drinking, or tobacco use” standards.
The restaurant also did not maintain proper cold holding temperatures during the inspection. Those violations were corrected while the health inspector was on-site.
The inspection also noted issues with thermometers, warewashing facilities, lighting and ventilation. “Food and nonfood-contact surfaces” were not “cleanable, properly designed, constructed, and used,” and single-use items were not properly stored.
Follow-up inspections are typically conducted within 10 days of the failed inspection. The Piedmont at Buckhead’s executive director could not be reached immediately.
