More than 4,000 people were temporarily without power in downtown Atlanta on Monday.

Thousands of Georgia Power customers were temporarily without electricity Monday night in downtown Atlanta.

And that included the SkyView attraction at Centennial Park.

According to the company's outage map, 4,757 customers were in the dark at 6:35 p.m.

A spokeswoman for the company said power should be restored quickly.

“It’s going to sound a little crazy, but a crane was picking up a heavy dumpster with trash and other materials and it fell on the (power) line,” Holly Crawford told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

By 6:45 p.m., power was restored.
