A benefit for retired Fulton County Police Officer Paul Phillips is being held at Fuddruckers in Alpharetta until 10 p.m. today.

On Feb. 1, 2008, Phillips stopped in Sugar Hill to help a woman who was being threatened by a drunken off-duty Duluth officer. Phillips was shot in the left arm by that officer, Jay Dailey. Phillips has undergone eight surgeries on the arm and has been unable to work.

The event was organized by the NobleHeroes Foundation, which provides financial assistance, social services and recreational activities to public safety workers who are wounded while doing their jobs.

Fuddruckers is located at 6360 Northpoint Parkway.
