There is no meeting of the Avondale Estates Ethics Board Tuesday night, as reported earlier. Local resident Joe Mandarino has filed an ethics complaint against the Board of Mayor and Commissioners asking for, among other things, voiding of the recent annexation of Stratford Green, and a delay in the March 17 special election for mayor.

Acting Mayor Terry Giager told the AJC Sunday night the Ethics Board would meet Tuesday. But Monday afternoon City Manager Clai Brown said according to city code that a person or body “shall have the right to written notice of the allegations at least 10 business days before a hearing.”

The BOMC received notice Friday, so the earliest date for a probable-cause hearing is March 20. Brown said he’s still waiting on a definitive date and time from the ethics board. He added that the March 17 election is still being held.
