The Atlanta chapter of the American Institute of Architecture has established an annual award named for Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall. The award "honors an individual from outside the field of architecture for exemplary leadership in increasing the value of architecture and design in our culture," according to a statement. Hall's District 2 includes Castleberry Hill, downtown, Sweet Auburn and the Martin Luther King Historic District, as well as Inman Park, Poncey-Highlands, the Old Fourth Ward, Midtown, Home Park and the Marietta Artery.

He is the first recipient of the award.
