A community meeting to discuss the design of the Beltline Southside Trail is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trees Atlanta, 225 Chester Ave.
The meeting seeks comments from residents and others about community spaces, ramps and stair connections on the trail between Glenwood and Confederate avenues, according to Atlanta City Council Member Carla Smith.
The Southside Trail will run for roughly four miles between University Avenue and Memorial Drive. It will be a 14-foot-wide concrete multi-use path with soft 3-foot shoulders on each side. Improvements may include plantings, lighting, retaining walls, connections to adjoining streets, storm drainage, signage, bridge repairs or replacements, and streetscape work and accessibility for intersecting streets.
