The private-sector nonprofit behind the Atlanta Beltline and an organization that secures helpers for community groups have joined forces to recruit and manage volunteers for the 22-mile rails-to-trails project.
The Atlanta Beltline Partnership and Hands On Atlanta announced a partnership in which HOA will be the central location for signing up volunteers and matching them to Beltline-related tasks – teaching about the project, handing out information and helping at special events like the Pittsburgh Rise and Washington Park Jamboree.
HOA says it also could link volunteers with community organizations along the Beltline working in health, the arts, environmental preservation and neighborhood revitalization.
