The Atlanta Police Department new appointments and transfers will be effective Jan. 1:
• Deputy Chief Shawn Jones of the Criminal Investigations Division to Assistant Police Chief.
• Major Rodney N. Bryant, commander of Zone 4 to Deputy Chief Community Services Division.
• Major Darryl K. Tolleson of the Training Academy to Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigations Division.
• Captain Paul Guerrucci to the rank of major and command of the Training Academy.
• Captain Adam Lee to the rank of major and will head the Major Crimes Section.
• Captain Darin Schierbaum to the rank of major and will head the Special Enforcement Section.
• Captain Henrietta Smith to the rank of major and commander of the Community Oriented Policing Section.
• Lt. Michael O’Connor to the rank of Captain and the Homicide Unit Commander.
• Lt. Terrell Griffin to the rank of Captain and Night Commander.
• Major Barbara Cavender from Special Enforcement to Chief of Staff.
• Major Byron Martin from Community Oriented Policing Section to commander of the Office of Professional Standards.
• Major Vincent Moore from Chief of Staff to Zone 4 Commander.
• Captain Janet Vincent from Night Commander to the E-911 Center.
• Officer Courtney Murphy has been named the new L.G.B.T Liaison.
• SPO Brian Sharp to Zone 5.
