The Alpharetta City Council has awarded a new, five-year service contract valued at $122,000 a year to a company that will continue to run the city’s special events.
Premier Events, the current contract holder, bested four other firms that also responded to a city request for proposals. Premier will be responsible for planning and managing the Taste of Alpharetta, Alpharetta Arts Streetfest, Brooke Street Park Concert Series, Food Truck Alley, Scarecrow Harvest, Wire & Wood Songwriter’s Festival and Season of Celebration, according to a staff report to the council.
The Food Truck, Brooke Street and Scarecrow events are new to the contract, as are activities such as printing, design and talent booking previously handled by various vendors, and the addition of sponsorship recruitment, staff said.
Other events Premier has managed include the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, Atlanta Jazz Festival, Atlanta Pride Festival, Taste of Atlanta, Music Midtown, Virginia-Highland SummerFest and Inman Park Fest, according to its application to Alpharetta.
