Cobb County mailed out about 230,000 annual assessment notices on Friday and almost half the properties dropped in value.
The value drop for the 107,000 or 46.5 percent of the properties, is due to market conditions or to state law requirements. Only about 600 properties increased in value due to market conditions.
The assessments include a tax estimate, but does not include any of Marietta’s city homestead and related exemptions or the Marietta school tax exemption.
