The Acworth City Council is expected to address the possibilities of allowing the contruction of a hotel and using a city facility for movie production at its Thursday meeting at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 4415 Senator Russell Ave.

A conceptual site plan will be considered from Horizon Hospitality Management Inc. to construct a four-story, 76-room hotel at 9 Baker Road.

On its website at Horizonhmi.com/upcoming-projects, two hotels are listed in Acworth as being planned for development — Fairfield Inn and Suites to be opened next spring and Hampton Inn to be opened at the end of next year.

The council also will consider an agreement with Champion the Film LLC of Woodstock to use a city facility and Liberty Hill Cemetery to produce a movie.
