The Cherokee County School Board has approved a partnership agreement with ABM Industry Groups LLC that will result in a $1,000 scholarship each year to an outstanding graduating senior from each of the county’s six high schools.
ABM would work with the district and a committee of company representatives and retired educators to award the scholarships, according to the agreement. It also would support Cherokee County recognition programs of staff and students through sponsorships, when possible, including the Superintendent’s Leadership Symposium and Support Staff Employee of the Year Awards.
The school district, in turn, would coordinate an open application process for the scholarships, and promote ABM programs such as job opportunities with the company serving Cherokee schools and facilities.
The agreement runs through May 2021.
