Cobb Commission Chairman Tim Lee used his annual State of the County speech Monday to roll out a new county initiative — Love Cobb County.
Lee listed a handful of reasons citizens and businesses should love and be proud of Cobb. He then urged them to profess their love to their “friends and business associates,” before showing a video urging residents to spread the love and pride through social media.
Lee touched on a few topics of actual county business, but broke no news. He said the county will focus in 2015 on preparing for the next round of military base closure discussion in Washington, D.C., continue its investments in transportation and economic development, and said the transportation and parking plan for the new Braves stadium will be rolled out in early 2016.
“See I love Cobb County,” Lee told the group of some 600 Cobb Chamber of Commerce members. “And I believe in order to reach great heights in the long term, we must continue making the right choices. I promise to lead and manage Cobb County government in the most conservative and transparent manner possible.
“You can love Cobb County and be proud of us and tell your friends, family and business associates.”
