Fresh off a two-day swing through the state this past weekend, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich will return to Georgia for church visits this weekend.

Gingrich, who represented the state for 20 years in Congress, will at Cumming's First Redeemer Church at 10:30 a.m. and at Rock Springs Church in Milner at 6:00 p.m.

Gingrich spent this past Friday and Saturday in Georgia, a state that many consider a must-win for his campaign to continue. Gingrich had already planned to be in Georgia later this month for a two-day bus tour. Asked if recent polls showing his lead shrinking in Georgia caused him to return sooner than expected, spokeswoman Susan Meyers said his past visit simply wasn't enough.

"Newt had such a good time in Georgia last weekend that he decided to return to see many of those he who couldn't fit into his jam packed days last weekend," Meyers said. "There are many supporters he wants to see before Super Tuesday, and we are doing everything we can to make it happen."
