Embracing who you are as a person is essential to how you experience and enjoy life.

If you spend most of your life trying to figure out who you are or what you stand for, then you will miss out on pivotal moments.

These reasons are why I chose to be part of one of the greatest sororities there is: Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is not only an organization, but a sisterhood that allows me to embrace my truest self.

Growing up as the youngest of three sisters, I have always been the one who took care of them.

I have natural instincts to nurture, care for and help others which furthers my desires to be a part of an organization that embodies the betterment of all people.

Joining Sigma Gamma Rho has allowed me to continue to fulfill these natural inclinations by doing the same for my sorority sisters.

Attending Spelman College has allowed me to embrace the true meaning of sisterhood in all aspects of life: academically, spiritually, physically, and many other ways.

Also being a midshipman in the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Program at Morehouse College has allowed me to further the leadership skills and characteristics I possess.

This sorority has allowed me to assert my leadership and gain more confidence in myself whether that is during chapter meetings, doing community service or just having  everyday conversation.

Being a part of Sigma means handling business. Being a part of Sigma means helping the community. Being a part of Sigma means uplifting others so that we all can be the best we can. Being a part of Sigma means greatness.
