Georgia State University will kick off college graduation events in downtown Atlanta and Clarkston with multiple ceremonies because of the closing of the Georgia Dome.
The ceremonies will be held in shifts in the GSU Student Center East and other locations on its downtown campus, on the Clarkston campus and in McCamish Pavilion on the campus of Georgia Tech.
Commuters should be aware of the effects on traffic.
Here is the list of ceremonies and locations.
Wednesday, May 3
The first ceremony will be held for those earning master’s degrees in the college of arts and sciences at 2 p.m. Student Center East building at 55 Gilmer St. in Atlanta.
Thursday, May 4,
2 p.m. Master’s and professional doctorate ceremony, Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing & Health Professions, Student Center East Ballroom, 55 Gilmer Street, Atlanta.
Friday, May 5
All ceremonies will be held at the Student Center East Ballroom, 55 Gilmer St., Atlanta.
10 a.m. Master’s ceremony – School of Public Health
3 p.m. Bachelor’s ceremony – Honors College
3:30 p.m. Master’s ceremony, Andrew Young School of Policy Studies
Monday, May 8
Two ceremonies for those earning bachelor’s degrees at McCamish Pavilion at Georgia Tech, 965 Fowler Street:
10 a.m. Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions, College of Education and Human Development.
4 p.m. J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Tuesday, May 9
Two ceremonies for those earning bachelor’s degrees at McCamish Pavilion at Georgia Tech, 965 Fowler Street:
10 a.m. College of Arts and Sciences, Students whose last names begin with A – L.
4 p.m. Students whose last names begin M – Z.
Wednesday, May 10
9:30 a.m. Master’s Ceremony – J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State Sports Arena, 125 Decatur St. SE, Atlanta.
7 p.m. Ph.D. Commencement and hooding Ceremony, Rialto Center for the Arts, 80 Forsyth St. NW, Atlanta.
Thursday, May 11
There will be three ceremonies on the Clarkston Campus in the gymnasium, 555 N. Indian Creek Drive.
9 a.m. Associate ceremony.
1 p.m. Associate ceremony.
4 p.m. Associate ceremony.
There will be one ceremony on the main campus downtown at the Rialto Center for the Arts, 80 Forsyth St. NW, Atlanta.
10:30 a.m. Master’s Ceremony – College of Education and Human Development.
Friday, May 12
4:30 p.m. Hooding Ceremony – College of Law. Sports Arena, 125 Decatur St Southeast, Atlanta.
