The Atlanta school board voted to re-elect Courtney English as board chairman and Nancy Meister as vice chairman at the board’s Monday meeting.

Both will serve in those positions for two more years.

English was elected with a 7-2 vote, with Byron Amos and Steven Lee voting no. Meister was elected unanimously.

“I pledge to do my utmost best to rise to your expectations,” English said, pledging to operate with “fidelity and transparency.”

English also announced several board committee appointments:

• Accountability committee: Courtney English, chairman; Nancy Meister, Steven Lee

• Audit committee: Eshé Collins, Leslie Grant and Matt Westmoreland

• Budget committee: Matt Westmoreland, chairman; Byron Amos and Nancy Meister

• Policy Review committee: Eshé Collins, chairman; Cynthia Briscoe Brown and Jason Esteves

• Legislative Liaison committee: Jason Esteves and Matt Westmoreland
