A shooting near a Connecticut Catholic school Monday morning has left one person injured and a group of students shaken after a bullet entered their classroom.

The shooting transpired near the Catholic Academy in New Haven, in an area near Alden and Fountain streets, according to a report by WFSB in Hartford, Connecticut. Police told the station the shooter was aiming at a man dropping off his child. The gunman reportedly fired 10 shots toward the man, and several hit the school, one entered a classroom.

There were about 11 students in the classroom, and no one was hurt at the school. The victim, who is reportedly a 26-year-old man, was shot several times, but none of the injuries are life-threatening, according to the Ctpost.com.

The Catholic Academy in New Haven serves children in grades pre-kindergarten to eighth grade.
