A 10-year-old girl suffered a fatal cardiac arrest Thursday night aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to Seattle.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, paramedics responded to a medical call for the child “and furiously worked to save her life,” the department said in a statement. “Sadly, all efforts were futile and the child was beyond medical help."
Delta Flight 2423 returned to LAX after a medical issue was reported during the flight.
The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office is investigating.
Police also responded and determined there was no foul play involved, according to CNN.
The Atlanta-based airline confirmed the incident.
