A Fulton County jury convicted a man of murdering a teenager during a robbery, District Attorney Paul Howard said Friday.
Quinntavish Kennedy, 25, shot to death 19-year-old Isiah Archible in May 2012 by luring him to south Fulton County near Old National Highway on the pretense of purchasing a car, Howard said in an email.
Archible and Ronald Woods, his brother-in-law, met Kennedy near Old National Highway when the latter approached their car and let them know it was a stick-up, not a sale, Howard said.
Archible gunned his car to flee but Kennedy managed to jump in the back seat and opened fire, shooting Archible in the head and Woods in the hand, Howard said.
Kennedy fled and was later arrested in South Carolina.
On Thursday, jurors convicted him of murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery. He is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Shawn LaGrua.
