The King Center will be site Saturday of a gathering of Atlanta area community leaders who support gun-violence prevention measures, such as the bipartisan legislation introduced by U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania and U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin of Virginia. Their bill requires background checks for commercial gun sales. The event, with the theme “We have not forgotten and demand action,” begins at 11 a.m. at the King Center reflecting pool, 449 Auburn Ave. Participants include Kwanzaa Hall, city councilmember, and Kimberly Brusk, domestic violence and gun violence survivor.
