Seven employees at a Milwaukee-area Popeyes have been fired after cellphone video emerged of a chaotic brawl that broke out last week among workers in the restaurant's dining room.

A customer at the restaurant took out his cellphone and began filming the episode about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The video shows several employees yelling at each other before a female worker jumps over the kitchen counter and swings at another employee.

Moments later, fists were flying between at least half a dozen uniformed employees, all whom were wearing the chain's signature hats and aprons. In the video, some employees can be seen restraining fellow co-workers, seemingly ending the fistfight without anyone being seriously injured.

Police who responded to the wild scene said no weapons were involved and no arrests were made.

The franchise owner of the restaurant confirmed the seven employees involved were fired, including the manager on duty.

“This was an unfortunate, isolated incident which we take very seriously," said owner John Brodersen. "The dining room was closed immediately after the altercation. ... As a result, seven employees were terminated from the company.”

A statement from Popeyes' corporate office said the franchisee fired the employees involved in the melee "and is reviewing additional actions to prevent this from happening again. This behavior is clearly against our expectations and standards," the statement read. The brawl did not appear related to recent violence surrounding the reintroduction of the chain's popular Popeyes Chicken Sandwich.
