The state worker arrested on drug charges over the weekend was fired from her position Tuesday.

Ericka Reeshema Thompson, an economic support specialist for the Division of Family and Children Services in Henry County, was charged with cocaine possession, marijuana possession and driving under the influence after her arrest Saturday in Jonesboro, authorities said.

Thompson, 38, was transporting a mentally disabled man when she stopped for an expired tag, according to police. When the officer searched her car, small amounts of cocaine and marijuana were found

Thompson was released from jail late Sunday after posting $25,000 bond.
