A Cumming man has won $1.5 million on the new instant lottery ticket, Jumbo Jumbo Bucks — Anniversary Edition.

Michael Whatley bought the winning ticket at Bagwell & Spears, 6135 Hickory Flat Road in Canton, the Georgia Lottery Corp. announced Wednesday.

And there’s other news on the lottery front.

A Lucky Bucks instant ticket brought good fortune and $500,000 to Victoria Soares of Atlanta. She bought her ticket in College Park and collected her winnings Tuesday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Meanwhile, Wednesday’s Powerball has a top prize of $235 million after rolling over for several weeks.
