After a "Donald Trump for President" campaign sign was removed from a lawn about 90 miles north of Atlanta, a Dalton man was threatened with a handgun and three people were arrested on multiple charges.

Three men were walking shortly after 1 p.m. March 8 when one of them, 18-year-old Mauricio Rodriguez, allegedly pulled up the Trump sign planted on the lawn in the 600 block of West Woodland Drive, crumpled it and threw it into the street, according to Chattanooga Times Free Press. Rodriguez then kept walking with Alexander Moreno, 17, and Hector Ayala, 20.

David Grant, a 43-year-old resident of the home, said he saw Rodriguez damage the sign, followed the three men into the street and demanded they stop and fix his sign, the newspaper reported.

The men ignored Grant, who followed them and grabbed Rodriguez by his vest, according to the Times Free Press. Moreno allegedly lifted his shirt, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at Grant, telling him to let Rodriguez go. The suspects ran away, but were arrested a short time later.

It’s not the first time political activism ended in arrests.

Thomas DiMassimo, 22, was arrested Saturday on misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and inducing panic at a held at a hangar near the Dayton International Airport in Vandalia, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton.

DiMassimo, whose mother is former Cobb County Transportation Director Faye DiMassimo, told police he had planned to run up on stage, take a microphone and yell, “Donald Trump is a racist.” But Secret Service thwarted the plan, according to a report.
