Two siblings killed in a Hall County car crash will have a joint funeral at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Denise Huerta, 9, and her brother Angel, 4, were killed Saturday after the SUV they were riding in collided with a pickup truck, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Their cousin, 16, who was driving, also died in the crash. The cousin’s name has not been released.

The trio were traveling along Highway 332 at Talmo Road just before 9 a.m. when the cousin did not yield the right of way. Five of the seven people involved in the crash were children.

“I’ve been coroner for 28 years,” Hall County coroner Marion Merck told Channel 2. “I guess this has been one of the worst cases I’ve had. This family is very distraught.”

The family has planned a triple funeral and they will be buried side-by-side, the news station reported. Merck told Channel 2 local businesses were helping with funeral costs.

The four people in the pickup truck were also injured. One was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, while three others were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Two remained in the hospital Monday, Channel 2 reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
