An on-duty Creek Nation police officer allegedly swiped $90 worth of make-up from a Wal-Mart in Checotah, Oklahoma on Wednesday, according to the McIntosh County Sheriff's Department.
Officer Margaret Bartlett was wearing her uniform while loss prevention officers watched her grab the items, deputies said. They contacted the McIntosh County Sheriff's Department, who had a deputy waiting by the door when Bartlett left the store.
In a police report, authorities said Bartlett claimed she was testing Wal-Mart's security and not actually trying to steal the items.
She was arraigned in court Thursday and held on $250 bail.
