Law enforcement officials have identified the four men accused of sexually assaulting a Kennesaw State University student in an on-campus apartment Sunday night.

Kennesaw State President Daniel S. Papp released a statement Wednesday night saying investigators have identified the accused men, who are “cooperating with law enforcement,” according to the release.

At least one of the suspects is believed to be a student at the university, according to a previous alert from campus police.

In light of the investigation, Papp said the university is “expanding 24-hour-a-day, seven-days-a-week police patrols throughout the entire campus community, with intensified patrols of residential complexes.”

Kennesaw State first became aware of the alleged sexual assault Monday night after a Marietta police officer reported the incident.

"minimize the possibility of contact between the involved parties while providing due process for all."

“There is no place in our campus community for sexual assault or any type of sexual misconduct. It simply will not be tolerated,” Papp said. “If wrongdoing is established, we will take every step within our power to ensure those responsible are held accountable.”

The university’s police department has asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to be involved with the case.
