Gwinnett County police are trying to find a man who broke into a cellphone tower construction business and stole more than $28,000 in equipment.

The burglar also took about $1,000 worth of power tools from Infinity Construction in unincorporated Buford, Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said Tuesday in a news release.

Infinity Construction is a "full-service wireless telecommunications solutions provider" that builds cellphone towers, according to the company's website. Officers were sent to the business on Austin Park Avenue on April 3 after an employee called and reported several items missing, according to a Gwinnett police incident report.

Police at the scene spotted ladders on both sides of a chain-link fence. Parts of the fence had been cut, according to the police report.

Surveillance video captured a man cutting the fence from the ground up, the report said. The man is also seen using two ladders to climb over the barbed wire atop the fence.

Investigators said once the man got inside the business, he stole about $24,000 worth of hoisting motors used for cellphone tower construction. An employee told police another $4,000 worth of wiring was rolled right off a shelf and stolen.

An investigation is ongoing.
