A Georgia woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly stealing from a youth soccer organization, authorities say.
Chanin Watkins, 35, of Bethlehem, is charged with 26 counts of theft related to funds discovered missing from the Barrow Youth Soccer Association.
Watkins, who was the treasurer of the organization, stole money from June 2015 to March 2016, according to a Barrow County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Board members discovered the missing funds in April and reported it to the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, according to the release. Investigators found Watkins had access to the funds for nine months.
A total of $56,000 was missing.
Watkins was in the Barrow County Detention Center Thursday.
