A 17-year-old student at North Clayton High School said he has a concussion and other injuries after a classmate attacked him at school.

Keod Watson said, “I just walked out of a classroom and half the 11th grade was there, and he’s standing there ...,” Channel 2 Action News reported.

A 40-second video obtained by Channel 2 showed the other student repeatedly punching Watson in the face.

“My front tooth is chipped, I had a black eye — it’s getting better now — and the orbital floor of my eye is fractured,” he told Channel 2.

A statement by Clayton County school officials to Channel 2 said in part, “It should be known that school administrators and safety personnel intervened swiftly and are, in keeping with established response to protocol, continuing to work with the parents of those involved.”

Officials didn’t disclose what, if any, punishment was handed out.

Watson’s grandmother, Gwendolyn White, said she can’t bear to watch the video.

“He could’ve hit him to where he’s not here,” she said. “Instead of me planning doctors’ visits I could be planning a funeral.”
