A Clayton County daycare teacher is facing a battery charge for allegedly kicking a toddler, police said.

Clayton County police arrested 22-year-old Alexis J. Wilson-Britten Friday evening and charged her with simple battery, Officer Eddie Soto said in an email.

He said Wilson-Britten, a teacher at a daycare center on Lakeridge Parkway in Riverdale, is accused of kicking a 2-year-old child “in an attempt to push the child away.”

Video surveillance from inside Wilson-Britten’s classroom revealed footage consistent with the allegation, Soto said.

Online records show that Wilson-Britten was booked into the county jail early Saturday, and was released late Saturday night.

The daycare center is a former Kids ‘R’ Kids franchise, but a spokesman for Kids ‘R’Kids International said Friday that the company severed ties with that location more than a year ago.
