An autopsy was performed Saturday on University of Georgia student Mikal Ghirmazghi but investigators say it will likely take several weeks to determine the cause of death.

Clarke County coroner Sonny Wilson said the autopsy was completed Saturday at the GBI crime lab, but no findings will be announced until they gather final results from toxicology tests and other tests, which are needed to determine what killed the 21-year-old college student.

As the investigation continues into the death of Ghirmazghi, people who knew her remembered the young woman as a sweet and friendly, and a campus leader. Ghirmazghi, 21, was found in her dorm room Thursday night in Russell Hall, where she served as a resident assistant for freshmen.
