In what may be the messiest breakup of all time, a series of lawsuits have followed a $325,000 New York wedding that never came to fruition.

According to the New York Post, Bradley Moss and Amy Bzura were set to get married at The Pierre Hotel in New York City and were just a day away from tying the knot. The night before the wedding, on Oct. 28, the groom's parents hosted a meal at the Blue Water Grill in Manhattan's Union Square.

When the bride’s brother, Adam Bzura, attempted to give a toast to the couple, the groom’s father, Robert Moss, quickly shut down the speech, threatening to kick Bzura out. The groom’s mother, Wendy Moss, joined and things escalated to the point that the groom’s brother, Michael, got up and punched Bzura in the face, according to a lawsuit obtained by the New York Post.

The brawl at the fancy rehearsal dinner led to shouting and crying, as well as the end of the couple’s wedding, the New York Post reported.

The divide between the families has since grown so vile that Robert Moss threatened to kick his son out of the family business, Long Island Pipe Supply, if he agreed to marry Amy. The locks on the couple’s home were also changed.

When the Bzuras filed a court order to allow their daughter back into her home to collect her belongings, the Mosses decided to let Amy pack her belongings, but only in the presence of an off-duty police officer, according to the New York Post.

The 32-year-old groom even filed a $125,800 lawsuit against the 27-year-old bride to cover the expenses of the engagement ring he bought her.

The bride’s father, Bruce Bzura, also filed a suit seeking $89,919 in expenses he claims Robert Moss agreed to pay to cover 79 of the groom’s wedding guests.

The lawsuits are pending as the families seem poised to allow the courts to figure out how they should foot the bill for a wedding that never came to be.
