The third annual Alpharetta Business Association Business Expo later this month will feature a new event this year - a Technology Start-up Showcase of some of the city's hottest startup firms.
Chairman John Ray said the expo, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Alpharetta Mariott on Windward Parkway, will be preceded by a pitch showcase, during which each of the start-ups will give make a presentation to a panel of business mentors and coaches. The same start-ups will be available during the main event to demonstrate their technologies and answer questions.
Ray said that more than 70 mainly small and mid-sized business exhibitors will be displaying their products and services. Several large institutions will also serve as sponsors including LG Electronics, which has a major Alpharetta-based operation, and Gwinnett Tech, which has an Alpharetta campus under construction. Ray said that exhibitor space for the event is sold out.
