A $6.5 million bid for construction of a planned addition at Dutchtown High School was approved by the Henry County Board of Education at its Oct. 11 regular meeting. It is the first project to get underway under the latest E-SPLOST program which was approved by voters last year, and officials said that the board will have others to consider on a regular basis in the coming months. The work includes the addition of 14 classrooms and two science labs along with associated workrooms, offices, and restrooms to the original building which was completed in 2004. A walkway from the high school to the nearby elementary school will be included as part of this project. Information: henry.k12.ga.us.
