The Duluth City Council recently voted in a 4 to 1 decision to accept quitclaim deeds from the three homeowners associations related to the condominium and two townhome developments adjacent to city hall. These deeds will place the roadway for Parkridge Lane and parking areas along Parkridge Lane and Ridge Towne Place under city ownership. There are 58 parking spaces which have often been used by the public that would now be officially designated for public use.

The roadway condition has some deterioration due to having been used as the construction entrance for the hotel over the past year. Councilmember Billy Jones voted against city ownership of the roads to avoid the city bearing the expense of repaving.
