Reconstruction of the westbound bridge over Ga. 53 continues this winter assuming the weather cooperates. Georgia Department of Transportation construction partners will close lanes on eastbound and westbound between Stephens Circle and Sportsman Club Road.
Single left lane closures eastbound and single right lane closures westbound will take place before the Lanier bridge overnight 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday to Thursday through Jan. 28. On the weekends, single left lane closures eastbound and single right lane closures westbound will take place overnight 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Jan. 10 through Feb. 25 Friday and Sunday .
A flagging station will be setup on each end of the bridge. A pilot car will lead traffic across the westbound bridge while work is taking place on the eastbound bridge over Lake Lanier.
