Gwinnett’s holiday tree arrived this week from Sugar Mountain, NC at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse in Lawrenceville.
Crews transported the nearly 40-foot Norway Spruce with the help of one of Santa’s helpers to the courthouse at 185 West Crogan St.
“Having the tree set up on the lawn symbolizes the start of the holiday season,” said Parks and Recreation Manager Tina Pangle. “Everyone gets excited about what’s to come.”
County staff will begin decorating the beloved tree for a lighting tradition to take place at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. This is the 34th year the county has celebrated the holidays with a tree lighting.
The tree will remain on display throughout the holiday season before being removed after the new year.
