Frühlingsfest is coming to Avondale Estates March 20 -April 4, according to a press release.
This year festival organizers “tweaked” the 1-day event into a 2-week long promotion. More than 25 Downtown Avondale Estates businesses will bring attention to German culture and food through a Frühlingsfest “business passport” program. There will also be an online local artisan market-place, in-keeping with the German tradition of artist markets.
Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta, the German Cultural Center for the Southeast is collaborating with the Avondale Estates Downtown Development Authority to host 2021 Frühlingsfest in Avondale Estates.
“These spring festivals are at the core of German community culture. In every town and city, all generations come together to celebrate the return of the sun and conviviality after many dark winter months. We are very excited to share this joy and entertainment with the community this spring, and for many springs to come,” explained Oliver Gorf, Executive Director of Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta.
Customers will get their passports stamped at participating businesses for a chance to win a $50 gift card. Each stamp earns one contest entry. “This is a great way to support your local businesses and learn a little more about German culture at the same time. Even better, the more businesses you support, the higher your chances of winning!” offered Sara Hempen, Avondale Estates Downtown Development Authority Mainstreet Manager. All City residents will be mailed information with how to participate. Passports will be included in the mail and available in a digital format. Watch your mailboxes and come out to enjoy the festivities.”
