If you're looking for a way to help make a family's Christmas a lot merrier, the Community Assistance Center may be the place.

The Sandy Springs-based nonprofit is kicking off its annual “Adopt-a-Family: program, which serves local families who have received assistance from CAC during the current year.

Here’s how to help:

You can view family stories and a child’s wish lists on the CAC website. Select a family and “adopt” online. Donors are asked to spend $50 per child and deliver the new and unwrapped gifts to the CAC gift distribution site. CAC officials will disclose the site to donors in the confirmation notice. The organization will distribute gifts to families as they are received.

If you or your group is interested in adopting more than 10 children, please contact CAC for assistance. In 2014, the program helped more than 1,200 local children have a happy Christmas.
