Broadcast journalist and author Amy Goodman will be in Atlanta Tuesday to discuss and sign copies of “Democracy Now! Twenty Years Covering the Movements Changing America.”

The Atlanta stop is part of a 100-city tour to promote the book, which she co-authored with David Goodman and Denis Moynihan.

The discussion and book signing will begin at 7 p.m. at First Iconium Baptist Church, 542 Moreland Ave. S.E.

Goodman is the host and executive producer of “Democracy Now!”, an award-winning news program that airs on more than 1,400 public television and radio stations.

The book highlights organizers, protesters and grassroots leaders that are changing the cultural and political landscape.

It includes the fight to save Troy Davis from execution in Georgia. Davis, who was convicted of killing a Savannah police officer, Mark MacPhail, was executed in 2011.

There will also be a meet-and-greet event from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall for $50. The ticket, which must be purchased in advance, includes a copy of the book and admission to the 7 p.m. program. Light refreshments will be served.

Tickets to the 7 p.m. program are $10, minus fees, and can be purchased at the door or online here.
