Truist Park opens Northside Hospital Nursing Lounge

Northside Hospital’s nursing lounge opened on Monday

The Braves’ home stadium, formerly known as SunTrust Park, has a new name: Truist Park.

Atlanta Braves pitcher Dylan Lee and his wife, Courtney, joined in Monday’s ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of Truist Park’s new Northside Hospital Nursing Lounge. Located between the Left Field Gate and Section 141, the lounge is available for mothers and infants attending Truist Park and in need of a quiet space for nursing.

The lounge features air conditioning, rocking chairs, recliners, a changing table, televisions and advice on breastfeeding from Northside Hospital lactation experts.

“The Northside Nursing Lounge at Truist Park is a place of respite and nourishment for our tiniest fans and their All-Star mothers,” Danielle Bedasse, Braves vice president of community affairs and executive director of the Atlanta Braves Foundation, said in a news release. “Braves baseball is for everyone, and this renovated space ensures that new moms have a place to care for their little ones while still being here to enjoy the game we all love. Northside Hospital is a true champion of women’s wellness and maternal health care, and we are grateful for their support to make the Nursing Lounge a welcoming place for our most valuable moms and babies.”

The Northside Hospital Nursing Lounge is part of a partnership between Northside Hospital and the Atlanta Braves, in which both organizations work together to provide community programs and to dedicate game days to local health care heroes.

“We at Northside Hospital are thrilled to provide this space for the comfort and health of moms and babies who attend events at Truist Park,” Lee Echols, vice president of marketing at communications at Northside Hospital, said. “Northside is a proud partner of the Braves and their fans, and we lead the nation in newborn deliveries. This is a perfect way to show our commitment to healthy moms and babies, and to highlight our relationship with the Braves.”
