The third annual Roswell Azalea Festival takes over our own river city for the month of April. Events take place throughout Roswell and throughout the month. In fact, about the only thing missing from this year's festival might be blooming azaleas thanks to our warm winter. But hey, if the Masters can get by without azaleas, so can this festival.

Here are some highlights of the festival:

April Fool’s Fest at Gate City Brewing

Hosted by North Fulton Rotaract, the show benefits the Lionheart School. $20 gets you six pours and admission to the show. 7 p.m. (but come earlier) April 1.

Azalea Festival Invitational Art Exhibition

Featuring works by A.J. Argentina, Walt Cagle, Barry Etris, Joan Hilliard and Scott Law in various media. The exhibit will be at the Bank of North Georgia,  10446 Alpharetta Street, Roswell. Open during bank hours, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Mon.–Fri.; 8:30 a.m. – noon Saturday, April 1-130. There will be a reception with the artists on April 5 from 6-8 p.m. Free.

Roswell Ghost Tour

The tours are led by “experienced paranormal investigators” and start at 8 p.m. at the bandstand in Roswell’s town square. Adults, $15, $10 12 and under. Tours last 2-2.5 hours. Year round but check their calendar.

Tea with Beatrix Potter at Barrington Hall

Spoiler alert: Beatrix is no longer with us, but Atlanta actress Holly Stevenson will bring beloved Potter characters such as Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck to life while tea is served in the garden. There will be games for the kids. $10, 1-3 p.m. April 15.

Sponsored by Choate Construction, this is a fundraiser for HomeStretch, which helps homeless families get back to normal family lives. 10K starts at 7:30 a.m., 5K at 7:45, 5K Walk at 7:50, Fun Run at 7:55. $15-$45 depending on which race and how soon you sign up. April 22.

This fundraiser for the Cottage School kicks off with a performance by the Briefcase Brigade before moving on the the serious business of dining and dancing at Ivy Hall. Individual tickets: $125. April 30, 5-9 p.m.
