Here are a trio of free smartphone apps to enhance your Oscars viewing:
IMDb Movies & TV (iOS, Android) — With millions of movie and titles and celebrity, actor, actress, director and crew member bios, you’ll be able to settle any dispute that arises during your watch party.
Oscars (iOS) — Backstage, red carpet and Governor’s Ball cameras deliver live, streaming video directly to your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
Vanity Fair Hollywood (iOS, Android) — Watch nominated films’ trailers and get Vanity Fair editors’ picks, then share your own ballot with Facebook friends. You’ll also be able to monitor the ceremony via VF editors’ tweets.
Speaking of tweets, here are several Twitter accounts to follow during the awards:
@AlbertBrooks — The notoriously dry comic actor let loose on the Academy after being snubbed by this year’s nominators. His tweets should be a hoot tonight.
@PattonOswalt — See above.
@EbertChicago — Outspoken film critic and nonstop tweeter Roger Ebert should have plenty to say on awards night.
#Oscars — Follow this hashtag for a flood of Oscar-related tweets.
