Alma Mexicana Folkloric Dance at Chamblee Library
Local dance group Alma Mexicana throws this fiesta of fancy footwork as part of the library’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. Watch as the troupe demonstrates traditional Mexican dances on the library floor. Expect classic Mexican costumes, from vibrant, flowing dresses to wide-brimmed sombreros. This on-the-house event comes to life thanks to funding by the Friends of Chamblee Library.

“Simply Complicated” at ACT1 Theater
Think you have it tough? This collection of skits — two funny and one dramatic — shows just how complicated life can be. In “Heaven Only Knows,” the devil’s messenger sets out to end the world when he becomes sidetracked by a girl knee-deep in trouble. “A Thou$and Dollar$” chronicles a young man’s attempt to spend $1,000 within 24 hours. The third piece, “Oh, What a Tangled Web,” shows how a white lie can snowball out of control with darkly comic results. The 6 p.m. Oct. 5 show includes dinner. A special ticket for Oct. 6 ($25) includes lunch at Mittie’s Tea Room Café between 11:30 a.m. and noon.

Macie’s glamorous looks may give the impression she knows all of Victoria’s Secrets, but don’t let the exterior fool you. Her brand of wide-eyed raunch is a shocking contrast to the glossy package.
