A few of the most desirable workplaces in the world can be found in Georgia, according to LinkedIn data.
LinkedIn's recently released Top Attractors list was compiled using the professional network's global editorial and insight teams, which examined actions from its over 400 million users. Analysts considered job applications, engagement and new hire staying power to determine the rankings.
Here’s a list of the companies, with headquarters or offices in Georgia, that made the cut:
The Atlanta-based company made the list, earning the No. 9 spot. What makes Coca-Cola so great? Well, the company is constantly updating its work benefits and practices for employees. Coca- Cola recently added the idea of resetting their budgets each year, so the budgets are justified annually and not simply carried over. The company plans to cut $3 billion in costs by 2019, and it will reinvest in marketing and innovation to spur growth. The company employs about 123,000 and will increase its paid leave to all new parents to six weeks.
The consumer goods company recently launched the “Nestle needs YOUth” program to tackle youth involvement in Europe. The company, which has distribution and warehouse facilities in McDonough and Lawrenceville respectively, also has plans to expand the program to the Americas, too. It aims to hire 24,000 people and open 7,000 apprenticeship and traineeship positions. It earned the No. 12 spot on the list.
The 225,000-employee firm is known for accounting, consulting and tax services. Ranking No. 13, the company uses emerging technologies including data analytics and has attracted employees with robust STEM backgrounds. Deloitte, which has an office in Atlanta, offers various training for employees but also education reimbursement. It encourages employees to give back, too. In 2015, employees spent 340,000 on pro-bono assignments and more than 820,000 hours volunteering.
Proctor and Gamble – a powerhouse of top-preforming product lines, such as Crest and Tide, receives a $76.3 billion in annual revenue in a single year. P&G landed middle-of-the pack in the list in the 23rd spot. The company, headquartered in Union City, is currently tweaking its bonuses. The company also supports educational efforts and offers to pay 80 percent of tuition for costs up to $40,000 total. Proctor and Gamble also provides up to 16 weeks of paid leave for parents.
The global company, which has Alpharetta and Atlanta locations, has close ties to the entrepreneurial community and is running the Entrepreneur of the Year competition. The company’s culture welcomes its employees to leave and try something new, but it always welcomes them back with open arms too. In 2015, the company invested more than $500 million in training and employees participated in 8.2 million hours of learning. The company earned No. 25 on the list.
At No. 29, this Chicago-based commercial real estate company has over 60,000 employees in 280 offices in 80 countries. The firm earned almost every major workplace award and its employees are proud to work for there. The company, which has an Atlanta office, looks for professionals who are self-starters.
The large French energy-management multinational, which placed 30th, runs its own school where engineers are trained on the new systems it’s inventing. The company, with offices in Alpharetta, Atlanta, Kennesaw, Marietta and Norcross, emphasizes promoting its own before scouting out new recruiting stars.
Earning the 39th spot, the company employs over 130,000 worldwide and is headquartered in New Jersey. With locations in Atlanta, Marietta, Norcross and Roswell, Honeywell has hired more than 1,700 veterans and if called to serve, continues to pay their salary with benefits.
