Days remaining in the 2017 legislative session: 6
It's another get-away day in the Georgia Legislature as the House and Senate convene at 10 a.m. for their final session of the week.
The House has seven fairly minor measures on the floor and a relatively light committee schedule for the afternoon.
The Senate, meanwhile, is counting down six bills from the floor, including House Bill 1, a bill seeking to clear the way for space ship launches in Georgia. The chamber is also set to take up HB 268, which updates the state's election code but includes provisions that have drawn concern from advocates who recently settled a voter registration lawsuit against the state.
Committee action includes HB 118, which for the first time in Georgia would regulate fantasy sports. It's up at 1 p.m. in the Senate Regulated Industries and Utilities Committee, Room 310 CLOB.
And HB 280, which would allow firearms onto the state's public college and university campuses, is expected to be taken up at 4 p.m. in the Senate Judiciary Committee, Room 307 CLOB.
