In today's edition of GPB's "Political Rewind," Peter Bergen, author of "The United States of Jihad" spent nearly the entire hour with us, telling us of the 400 U.S. citizens or permanent residents who have been arrested for connections with Islamic terror.

That's up from 300 when the hard-back edition of his book came out. We're now in paperback territory.

In essence, Bergen told host Bill Nigut and me that the lone wolf, homegrown trend in the U.S. is the dominant source of American jihadism – to the point that President Donald Trump’s six nation ban on travel is rather useless.
